Ingenico Bluetooth Connectivity
There is a known issue with Ingenico Bluetooth devices where the device loses connectivity in the process of downloading a file when connected via Bluetooth. When
connecting a Bluetooth device to triPOS for the first time, version 5.9 or later, if the device has a version of RBA installed that is out of date, triPOS will update
the device to the latest version of RBA. In addition to any necessary RBA updates, triPOS will also download triPOS-specific files; follow the steps below to complete the update process.
- Install triPOS version 5.9 or later.
- Pair the Ingenico Bluetooth device with your host Bluetooth device.
- Set up the lane in the triPOS.config.
- Restart triPOS.
- triPOS will identify a newer version of RBA and download the file to the device.
- The device should reboot on its own when the download is complete. If it does not (check the Verbose log to be sure the download is complete and triPOS is waiting for a reboot), reboot the device manually and perform the previous steps again.
- After the reboot, the device will appear to still be paired and connected to triPOS; it is not. Un-pair the device and re-pair (see Note below).
- Update the lane in the triPOS.config with the newly paired information.
- Restart triPOS.
- triPOS will identify a newer Security file and download the file to the device.
- The device should reboot on its own within 30 seconds.
- After the reboot, the device will appear to still be paired and connected to triPOS; it is not. Un-pair the device and re-pair (see Note below).
- Update the lane in the triPOS.config and restart triPOS.
- triPOS will identify a newer Forms and Custom Prompts file and download the files to the device.
- The device should reboot on its own within 30 seconds.
- After the last reboot, the device will appear to still be paired and connected to triPOS; it should be.
- Restart triPOS and use as normal.
Note: Some Bluetooth devices can only be un-paired when the device is on the offline screen. When the triPOS service is stopped and it shuts down the lanes, it may appear the device is on the offline screen since it displays "Lane Closed", but that is not always the case. First stop triPOS, then reboot the device to reach the offline screen before attempting to un-pair.
